The Temple of Heaven

My roommate and I have decided to make Monday mornings before Chinese class "Tour Beijing" mornings, so this Monday we hit up the Temple of Heaven - another one of those icons of Beijing. The altar itself is in the middle of a huge park, and while the buildings were cool to see, we had more fun hanging out and watching the local people dance, and sing, and do Tai Chi and play cards and hackiesack (with a badminton birdie?).

This might be my favorite man ever. He was just chillin' on a bench telling jokes. Or at least everyone was laughing so I assume they were jokes - not like I could understand him...

Middle-aged Chinese women drill team dancing with paddles and balls? One of them tried to teach us how to do it later. It was A LOT harder than it looks.
